HORIZONS: Songs from New Musicals seeks to bring new songs to musical theatre fans. From ‘One Day More’ to ‘Defying Gravity’, every musical theatre hit was once new writing, waiting to be discovered. HORIZONS selects songs from up and coming songwriters and curates them into a set list especially for the audience. This concert series at The Crazy Coqs in London’s West End has been described as "vivid and electric" and "encapsulating the feel of new musical theatre".
PORTRAIT UNKNOWN is a new musical developed with Thomas Currie (Music) and Tommy James Green (Book & Lyrics). It was first performed at Mountview’s VIEW Festival, followed by a reading at The Other Palace, London. It is the fun, heartwarming tale of Georgie, a gallery attendant blackmailed into stealing a mysterious portrait. A music video for the song ‘One In A Million’ was also produced, showcasing the musical’s exciting contemporary new musical theatre sound. The musical is currently under further development.
UNBOXING BETHANY is a new musical developed with Adam Gerber (Music) and Ellis Kerkhoven (Book & Lyrics). A workshop production was performed at Umbrella Rooms rehearsal studios in London. The musical (previously titled Phoenix Rising) poses the question ‘do our lives still have inherent value if they go completely wrong?’. The work includes topics such as redundancy, relationship breakdown, loss and isolation. Challenging and ultimately uplifting, Kristie has commissioned the musical and holds producing rights.
